Our first Riesling release from the stellar 2008 Central Otago vintage is sourced from a Bendigo vineyard that is already renowned as an ideal block for Riesling. An elevated slope with excellent sun exposure and soils of high schist content has resulted in lively fruit and a gentle ripe acidity. The grapes were hand picked at 22.6 Brix, whole bunch pressed, settled for 48hrs and then fermented at cool temperatures to retain
the fresh fruit characteristics.
Colour
Pale lemon
Nose
Freshly cut green apples and a hint of quince overlap a delicate lemon fragrance.
Palate
Lively, with varietal fruit characters of crisp ripe apples, some pineapple and citrus notes with a hint of minerality. Well flavoured yet light bodied. Gentle acidity and a touch of lifted fruit sweetness support a clean long finish.
Style
Off-dry
