EXCELLENT
Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
93pts, A wine with concentration, texture, character and quality
A youthful, vibrant and varietal bouquet led by scents of dark plums and raspberry compote then barrel and fruit spices. Floral too with wild forest flowers and an earthy mineral quality with a touch of clove. Firm, youthful and dry on the palate with core flavours of dark berries and plum then barrel with a very light reductive quality. Well made with medium+ length and finish. A wine that will develop well over the next 2-3 years with best drinking from early 2027 through 2031+.

Outstanding quality (gold medal standard)
The very youthful 2024 vintage (****1/2) was estate-grown at Gibbston and matured for nine months in French oak barriques (8% new). Full, bright ruby, it is mouthfilling, very fresh and vibrant, with strong, cherryish, plummy, gently spicy fruit flavours to the fore, a subtle oak influence, lively acidity and supple tannins. A graceful, vigorous red with good intensity, it's well worth cellaring.

95 / 100 Outstanding quality showing varietal purity and exemplifying regional type.
Splendidly fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows dark plum, warm spice, game, mushroom, and toasted almond characters. It's succulent and fleshy in the mouth, delivering excellent weight and silky flow, beautifully framed by fine tannins, making it harmonious and persistent. At its best: now to 2034.
